Excerpt from the MerlinOne: evaluation:

"One of the most useful features of Merlin is its integration of the Nuance voice-to-text engine that can analyze a video file and output it as a text transcript (which also can be exported via XML sidecar). Next, the text is indexed by Merlin's search engine against the timecode, which shows you exact time frames when certain words were used. While this is a well-executed and potentially useful feature for many scenarios, the speech-to-text functionality is not easy to "train," particularly if you deal with various regions and accents from around the world. Customers in truly global settings report that they do not rely on this feature. ..."
