A Plone Primer
A Plone consultant, Brad Bollenbach, has written a nice introduction to the open-source CMS, Plone (which is built on top of the Zope application server) in O'Reilly's ONLamp e-zine. The article describes Plone's ample feature set and ease of customizability, which tends to make it stand out relative to many other open-source alternatives. We think you still might need a Python guru like Bollenbach to help you with your implementation. The article doesn't stress it much, but note in particular Plone's notion of "members" rather than "users" -- a key differentator from the Zope Content Management Framework (CMF), and an important concept that can make Plone more or less suitable for certain use cases relative to the CMF.
