Microsoft announces "Standard Edition" of CM Server

MS CMS has always been kind of a "tweener," not quite enterprise-ready in scope, but not priced competitively with other mid-market players either. And many among Microsoft's integration channel found the product overly complex. The company is responding with a slimmed-down Standard Edition at one-sixth the cost (only US$7k per CPU), but limited to only 15 contributors. That will work for many smaller buyers and ease adoption in the broader MS channel.
