Verity Acquires Dralasoft

Enterprise Search vendor Verity today snapped up independent workflow vendor Dralasoft. We are kind of sad to see Dralasoft melded into the borg. As an award-winning purveyor of a discrete content management function, Dralasoft and its ilk had a nice future, we thought, in services-oriented architectures. As part of a larger conglomerate, Dralasoft's prospects as a plug-and-play service become cloudy. This acquisition continues Verity's push to extend beyond search and more deeply into enterprise business processes. That is probably good business for them, but buyers should remember that the peculiar geometry of enterprise content management makes the trip from search to content management longer than the journey from content management to search. Verity is not an ECM vendor....yet....

Our customers say...

"I've seen a lot of basic vendor comparison guides, but none of them come close to the technical depth, real-life experience, and hard-hitting critiques that I found in the Search & Information Access Research. When I need the real scoop about vendors, I always turn to the Real Story Group."
