Google seeks partners for enterprise search products

InfoWorld reports that Google is seeking partners to expand the reach of its enterprise search products through a program called "Google Enterprise Professional." The move makes sense; value-add resellers have long populated the enterprise search ecosystem, and as one integrator points out, Google has no professional services organization to compete with them. But wait! I thought the Google Appliance was supposed to be so simple that customers needn't perform hardly any customization. Just plop it in a rack, turn it on, and voilà: enterprise search. Well, as Steve Arnold points out, enterprise search projects remain complicated in any form, and after years of innovation, still require experienced information professionals to make them work.

Our customers say...

"I've seen a lot of basic vendor comparison guides, but none of them come close to the technical depth, real-life experience, and hard-hitting critiques that I found in the Search & Information Access Research. When I need the real scoop about vendors, I always turn to the Real Story Group."
