Version 22.1 of the Web CMS Report includes Oracle, HP, IBM updates

The latest version 22.1 release of our Web Content and Experience Management report is now available. We’ve updated the following vendor evaluations:

  • IBM: Big Blue has made small incremental improvements to the IBM Web Content Manager, around mobile content management in particular. Overall, IBM WCM remains primarily a complementary choice for those customers enveloped in WebSphere-like technologies.
  • HP: After many debacles related to the acquisition of Autonomy’s TeamSite, HP is working on reinvesting into TeamSite. There are some improvements to the Web CMS, some new features related to experience management, and even a renewed focus on customer service. However, it is too early to tell whether any of the above really matters anymore.
  • Oracle: The former FatWire WCM system has seen tremendous Oraclization: from product strategy perspective of inclusion into the overall Oracle marketing suite (which does not, however, mean seamless integration), to the as ever aggressive Oracle salespeople. In general, Oracle WebCenter Sites is steadily moving down towards joining the Legacy Vendors segment of the marketplace. And that is not a positive or promising sign to either current customers or prospects.

You can download either individual chapters of these vendor evaluations, or the entire report here.
