Lenya Plugging Along

While we weren't looking, Apache Lenya became more of a CMS. Originally conceived as a content repurposing platform on top of the Cocoon XML application server, Lenya has slowly applied more traditional content management capabilities, including versioning, general site management, and basic workflow. Authoring remains a bit weak, even in its most recent release. And keeping a stable roadmap remains difficult for smaller Apache projects dependent on the fickle trajectories of larger Apache projects. Despite the enduring passion of the projects founders, we think Lenya's biggest challenge right now is the relatively small size of its community compared to other open source CMS tools with longer-lived and broader market presence...
