CDP Vendor Updates: Acquisitions, AI, and Strategic Shifts
The Customer Data Platform (CDP) marketplace has seen a fair amount of recent activity, with significant vendor shifts and notable feature updates. At Real Story Group, we've updated our evaluations for fourteen major CDP vendors based on recent developments:
- Acoustic Connect: Rebranded and consolidated amid new stack-in-the-box strategy, but questions remain around usability and feature consolidation
- Acquia: Launched WebTag 2.0 for improved data collection, but real-world scalability and performance need validation
- Adobe Real-Time CDP: Continues enhancements but remains tightly coupled to Adobe's ecosystem, limiting data integration flexibility
- Amperity: Frequent CEO turnover and layoffs signal strategic uncertainty, though their Lakehouse CDP innovations are promising
- ActionIQ: Acquired by Uniphore, pivoting towards an AI-first CDP model with potential integration hassles
- BlueConic: First-party data capture through acquisitions and new Snowflake story, yet integration depth remains limited
- Blueshift: Enhanced first-party data activation and personalization, deepening integrations with data warehouses like Databricks
- Lytics: Acquired in likely fire sale by Contentstack, shifting towards content personalization but raising questions about viability as an independent CDP player
- mParticle: Acquired by Rokt to enhance real-time relevance, particularly for ecommerce and ad-driven scenarios; indie status now in question
- Optimove: Expanded AI and gamification capabilities through acquisitions, reinforcing a customer-led marketing focus, while further complicating a rather extended portfolio
- Redpoint Global: Launched Warehouse-native CDP capabilities with "zero-copy" integration for Snowflake, reinforcing its data management and orchestration approach; other parts of the suite remain less modern...
- Salesforce CDP: Still trying to integrate with major data lakehouse vendors, but true nature of "zero copy" raises several questions
- Tealium: Introduced AIStream and enhanced consent management, but vendor still struggles with tech debt
- Treasure Data: Significant advancements with generative AI and "zero-copy" Snowflake integration, reinforcing data ops-oriented leanings

As you can see, the market is experiencing shifts around lakehouse integration, M&A, and of course AI. That first trend is most important. RSG's press release explains more.
