Updated DAM reviews of Asset Bank, Bynder, Canto, censhare, MediaBeacon, OpenText, ResourceSpace, and ZONZA

  • Hogarth Worldwide recently wrote-off ZONZA, a platform which the large advertising firm marketed prominently as an enterprise DAM a few years ago, and now only maintains for existing Hogarth customers
     
  • UK SaaS stallwarts Bright Interactive / Asset Bank and Brandworkz continue to expand their offerings, adding to the extremely competitive and ever-growing cloud-based DAM market
     
  • WAVE recently lost its CEO; in the research we discuss the implications
     
  • ResourceSpace, one of the few significant open source DAM projects, continues to grow thanks to both community and commercial contributions 
     
  • OpenText acquired HP's MediaBin earlier this year, which has significant overlap with its other DAM product, Media Manager — but the vendor claims they will "continue to protect existing customer investments"
     
  • MediaBeacon, formerly a small and eccentric DAM pure-play, has catapulted into the bigger leagues with backing from Danaher and integration with Esko tools
     
  • FotoWare, Norway's most prominent DAM, is expanding its presence in the super-competitive North America
     
  • Censhare along with Stylelabs is pushing into newer models of data management and tightly coupled DAM with PIM
     
  • Bynder continues to invest heavily in UX, web2print, and workflow tools
     
  • Canto is struggling with its long-attempted reach into the higher echelons of large enterprise DAM
