Is Executive Involvement Essential to Enterprise Social Success?

  • 19-Nov-2016

A common refrain in the world enterprise social says that "executive support" is essential to success. But is it really?

In this video excerpt from a town hall-style debate, ESN Expert Dion Hinchcliffe and I discuss the extent to which executive involvement has any correlation with success in enterprise social.

I had the unenviable task of arguing against the centrality of executive sponsorship — which actually I believe can be exceptionally useful.  I pointed out that some organizations have been very successful without it.  Dion countered with some great industry data about the need for executive participation.

The debate addressed nine other enterprise conundrums. You can watch the entire hour on-demand here.
