Expansion of Broadcast & MAM research - TMD and KIT Digital

Two months ago we debuted a new research stream, Broadcast & Media Asset Management, specifically for those of you who have major needs to manage video.

Though our primary audience is those of you with a particular focus on broadcast, sports, news, and entertainment-oriented time-based media, we're also addressing the challenges that non-media-centric corporations have in managing the growing short-form audio and video that corporate marketing departments increasingly create.

This week we added an in-depth review of broadcast media management vendor Transmedia Dynamics (a.k.a. TMD), and their product MediaFlex. Our subscribers can now compare this UK-based, media-modernization-oriented vendor to other broadcast media management powerhouses such as Dalet, Avid, Harris, and Vizrt.

Though the TMD services group has deep expertize in media modernization and archiving, and the technology sports an advanced graphical workflow builder, we have concerns about the old-school user interface and a small company size that may pose challenges in staffing the generally large media management project needs of broadcasters.

We've also expanded our coverage of KIT Digital in light of the recent massive layoffs, and direct questions from our subscribers about the long-term viability of the MAM and DAM platforms the company has acquired over the years. Several years after the  video hosting and streaming vendor acquired The FeedRoom and SaaS-based DAM stalwart, ClearStory, we've seen little attention given to those technologies, as the focus shifts to the new banner products, Cosmos and Cloud.

Subscribers can access 180+ pages of hard-hitting evaluations of the MAM market here, with much more to come over the next year.

Our customers say...

"I've seen a lot of basic vendor comparison guides, but none of them come close to the technical depth, real-life experience, and hard-hitting critiques that I found in the Search & Information Access Research. When I need the real scoop about vendors, I always turn to the Real Story Group."
