Key Trends in Web Content and Experience Management

My colleague Apoorv and I had a very productive advisory session today with a longtime RSG subscriber, a global systems integration firm. The topic was trends in Portal and Web Content & Experience Management (WCXM) technologies.

In case you were curious, here are the four trends in WCXM we shared:

  1. Renewed focus on content (driven by mobile, digital marketing, etc.)
  2.
  3. WCXM vendors struggling with outbound digital marketing services
  4.
  5. Abdication at the very top end of the marketplace (not new, but still significant)
  6.
  7. Key differentiators persisting within vibrant mid tiers of the market

For each trend we shared some anecdotes based on customer activity we're seeing.

I recognize that WCXM is only one piece of the website puzzle for enterprises, but it remains a central piece, for sure.  The risks for getting it wrong have never been higher.
