Vamosa to stop going

Vamosa means "let's go" in spanish, and sadly the UK-based content migration technology firm Vamosa is indeed going...away.

After a week of rumor we confirmed directly with the firm today that they are in "administration." What this means in practical terms is that Vamosa is now under temporary new management (an insolvency practitioner is appointed), tasked with putting together a rescue package and/or outside buyer.

From what we can gather this move came as a shock to all concerned, but clearly it will take time for all the details surface. I think it likely that Vamosa will be sold as a going concern, that there will be a buyer, and that in some form or other the Vamosa technology and possibly even the brand will live on.  There's a place in the enterprise for migration and compliancy tools, but cash is always king even when sales are going well, and small vendors have fewer options at financial crunch time.

At this stage there is not a lot I can add, other than the very obvious advice that any dealings with Vamosa need to go on hold at least until this is all resolved.

ECM Standards in Perspective

In real life I don't see ECM standards proving particularly meaningful, and you should see them as a relative benefit rather than absolute must-have.
