These companies are huge Enterprise Content Management or enterprise infrastructure vendors that sell DAM as part of a much larger suite of products.
These vendors are considered “major players” in the arena of Digital and Media Asset Management, and they live and breathe DAM and only DAM.
The vendors in this section thrive in small workgroup or agency scenarios, but in some cases they challenge the larger enterprise vendors as they take on larger and more demanding DAM and MAM scenarios within existing client bases.
“Open Source” and “DAM” have not historically been found together, unlike in the realm of web content management where open source options abound. These two, new to our research as of mid-2010, represent very viable options.
These are vendors who focus on a particular aspect of DAM or MAM (or the application of it in a particular industry vertical), and have a very small market share.
