Component Content Management Vendors

Authoring Tools

These are fairly established XML-based authoring tools. They are commonly integrated with all categories of component content management systems via authoring bridges, and some are provided as part of the CCM solution.

Dedicated CCM Tools

The majority of these tools have a long track record in the SGML/XML component content management industry and have emerged from the Technical Communications industry, but some have gone beyond their roots to support more enterprise content.

Enterprise Tools

Enterprise tools must bridge silos, share content effectively among them, identify opportunities for reuse, and present an interface or multiple interfaces that work for each of the areas.

Publishing Tools

This category is probably the most diverse in terms of functionality. The range of functionality differs from dynamic assembly of content, to interactive formatting of XML content, to “batch publishing” of XML to PDF.
