On the surface, intranet and websites would seem to resemble each other, inasmuch as they require many of the same technology services, including web content management, search, analytics, potentially social tooling, and frequently portal/integration facilities. Many enterprises naturally seek to leverage investments made in one environment in the other, particularly in the area of Web CMS technology.
