Enterprises frequently inquire about what format to employ when archiving electronic documents. There are two competing formats for archiving electronic documents: TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) and PDF/A (Portable Document Format - Archival). The TIFF format is the most widely used globally and pre-dates the PDF/A format. However, the PDF/A format has some very distinct advantages and therefore will continue to grow; it potentially could become more popular than the TIFF format in the future.
