After making only modest revisions to the Resolution product it acquired (a decision we heartily applauded), Microsoft developed more expansive plans for Version 2.0, tentatively titled "MS CMS 2002." It would become a true .NET server and stitch up a comparatively glaring hole in MS Office conversion capabilities. This next version was originally due out this Spring (i.e. now), but Microsoft is currently setting expectations in the channel to look for a late Summer or even early Autumn release. Taking the time to do this upgrade right may well be a good idea, but we know of several firms on the fence about the product, waiting to see what (likely significant) changes the next version has in store....
