From the good folks at Data Conversion Laboratory comes this cautionary list of potential problems with copy-pasting into a new content management system. Although the article assumes you are converting to an XML-based system, many of the same gotchas -- including the need to normalize hyperlinks -- can occur when you are simply migrating from static HTML files to an HTML-oriented database behind a CMS.
