Here's why. Most software implementations fail to realize their stated objectives -- and much of the problem can be traced to a poor solution selection process. Very often a business unit leads the process, but they may have never done it before. Other times selection may fall completely to an IT team or individual, who in turn may have to guess at business needs in the absence of sufficient participation by their colleagues.
Yet, selection can be a high-stakes, high-anxiety decision. Buyers often respond by developing excessively long "checkbox" RFPs under the delusion that more detail will reduce their risks. They send RFPs to a haphazard collection of suppliers, sit nervously through inconclusive demos, then rush to make a decision so that the project can finally get started. This distant, uncommunicative courtship almost inevitably leads to a poor marriage.
Interested to learn about an alternative? Join me for a fast-paced (30 minute) session, where I'll lead you through a test-based methodology that will save you time and money, but more importantly reduce your risk of making poor choices and substantially increase your chances of finding the right technology partners.
Regardless of the type of software, the license model, delivery format (e.g., on-premise vs. SaaS), the ultimate application, or the size of the enterprise, a solid selection process then bodes well for the success of the implementation and the lifecycle of the application itself.

However, this is not its intended use, and the back-end UI would often be ill suited to deal with user-generated content coming. If you want to allow visitors to contribute to your site, you must carefully evaluate..."
