Whether the economy has begun to turn the corner, we don't know, but if this graph from Indeed.com is any indication, times have at least not been getting any worse for job-seekers with "content management" on their resumes.
In fact, according to Indeed.com, job posts listing "content management" as a keyword have been steadily increasing for five years running, while jobs with keywords "Java" or "C++" have remained mostly flat. Java-related job postings took a slight jump in late 2008 but have remained flat or declined somewhat since then. "C++" jobs have remained more-or-less constant.
Given the steady longterm trendline, I'd say the future looks bright for "content management" job-seekers.

"Microsoft tells you it's wonderful, competitors tell you it's awful, and there's not a lot in between. The Real Story Group's SharePoint Research, does an excellent job of covering the 'in-between.' The authors have done an outstanding job in documenting what SharePoint is, in thinking about how and where it can be used effectively, and in giving prescriptive guidance to organizations that are considering SharePoint -- both to embrace the good, and to avoid the bad."
