With the long-awaited release of CMS2002, Microsoft has finally coverted the product from the relatively straightforward nCompass architecture to .NET -- in a very big way. While the end-user interfaces (and features) are largely untouched, the innards of the product have been substantially re-engineered; in fact, we think this is the most faithful implementation of the .NET strategy to date. And it also ties the product even more closely to the broader MS constellation: for developers, MS CMS is now tightly bundled to VisualStudio.net, while business users will almost surely want -- and in most cases will *need* -- to upgrade to Office XP...
